Ibersystems of Defense, the new Spanish company owned by GTD and Nexter Systems, has held an Industrial Day to provide information and opportunities for future collaboration to companies that are interested in his proposal for the new 8x8 vehicle for Spanish MoD. In total have participated in this initiative more than a hundred professionals from over 80 companies spread throughout the country, in sectors as varied as Mechanics, Electronics, Engineering, Metallurgy, or Logistic Support Automotive, among others. All of them could hear presentations from leading companies responsible for driving the project and participated in a novel system of workshops, where they have had the opportunity to receive firsthand information on their opportunities for collaboration in the manufacturing of armored 8x8 vehicle. Sourcing Strategy During the first briefing, the project responsible of GTD, Nexter Systems and Renault Trucks had the opportunity to introduce their companies separately, although the primary goal was to present Ibersystems as a reality already underway with potential to become a candidate for the International Competition Spanish Defense Ministry VBR 8x8 (Armored Vehicle Wheels 8x8), for replacement of the BMR. In this sense, the heads of Ibersystems put special emphasis on explaining the procurement strategy of the company highlighted as key to the selection of subcontractors of the project factors such as project management skills, experience in supply chain management The ability to develop innovative products and processes, incorporating maintainability requirements, or supply of product at a competitive price, among others. The scope of outsourced products go from design and development of equipment to maintenance and support them, through facets such as the provision of raw materials, pre-production, transport, equipment manufacturing and integration of same format Kit Five independent seminars It was precisely at this point, manufacture kit format, where the company responsible for the spread in its presentation, considering that this type of configuration based on the combination of components of various technologies, pre-integrated or not previously accepted and ready to mount on the vehicle, improves manufacturing efficiency by minimizing space and labor, and there are clear benefits to subcontractors. In this area, we would be talking about the integration of more than 120 kits, contributed by thirty subcontractors. Following the presentations, representatives of companies participating in the Industrial Day, had the opportunity to participate in five Workshops for specific aspects related to the manufacture of VBCI. These working groups were engaged in the areas of mechanics, optronics - Logistics and other equipment for the Platform, Mobility and C4IR (Command Control Communication Computers Intelligence And Recognition).
