After various months of evaluation with 100 pilots and subsequently with 650 type-rating instructors, the application eWAS was finally deployed for close to 3500 pilots the 19th April 2017. All the Air France pilots will be now be able to prepare their flights with the real-time forecasts and observations directly from their iPads with 4G. eWAS was specifically customized and integrated with the Air France in-house briefing solution Pilot Mission. As first multi-weather provider application, Air France was able to choose the best weather forecasts and observations from Météo France, Météorage, Schneider Electric, the American companies NOAA and The Weather Company. They have also selected to activate the ice crystals nowcast from Jeppesen. All these different forecast and observations of Thunderstorm, Turbulences, Icing, Pireps and wind are consolidated in a single and dynamic view. Updates during the en-route phase directly from the connected EFB are also anticipated for the coming months. Three more clients have signed to deploy eWAS in the next months and close to 40 airlines are evaluating the application with their pilots. You can currently download eWAS for free from the App Store. Click here to download it today!
