GTD, together with Portel and Portel Morocco, has been appointed to support the expansion of the PORTNET National Single Window for the next five years. Today, GTD announced that it has been awarded a contract by PORTNET S.A. to assist on project management and the implementation of PORTNET S.A. IT Service Center. Who is PORTNET S.A. and What is its Mission?PortNet was initiated in 2008 by the National Port Agency with the vision of creating a dedicated project entity in which all the foreign trade stakeholders would be involved. Since its creation in 2012, PORTNET is in charge of the project implementation of the National Single Window for the facilitation of all port and trade procedures (Ports, Airports, Private Warehouses under customs, Banks, Handling Operators, Shipping Agents, Importers and Exporters, Freight Forwarders etc.PORTNET S.A., in collaboration with all stakeholders, ports and foreign trade communities, intends to act as a lever to improve the competitiveness of economic operators and the national economy of Morocco, as a National Scale Service Company for External Trade operations.It is noteworthy that the PortNet platform counts more than 22.725 clients with more than 26.480 users.PortNet Morocco: «National Single Window for foreign trade cuts waiting times by 45%» PORTNET’s IT Service Center PORTNET’s IT Service Center aims to be a fully autonomous entity with the resources and means enabling it to fully manage PortNet’s information system and to provide other IT services related to the ecosystem of International Trade. The objective of the service center is to develop the next generation of the National Single Window PortNet platform and to provide PORTNET S.A. with the technological means necessary to ensure the evolution and maintenance of the PortNet platform. It will also enable PORTNET S.A. to achieve the strategic objectives set by the foreign trade community.It will allow the orchestration of data and document exchange within the scope of administrative procedures, logistics transaction or electronic payment. The system is designed to facilitate foreign trade formalities by electronic exchanges between the various stakeholders. The Service Center will connect the public and private partners and will cover all Moroccan import/export trade operations (including Air Freight, Ports, Railway and Road).This is a fundamental step towards the Morocco ‘e-GOV’ initiative which aims to bring together the constituents, citizens and administrations in a paperless relationship combining efficiency and transparency.
