Beijing / Barcelona, 22 August 2026. — On 20 August, GTD Ingeniería and MIGO Private Investment Corporation signed a strategic agreement with X-HUMANOID in Beijing to drive the adaptation, certification, commercialisationand deployment of its humanoid robotics and embodied-intelligence platforms in Europe. The alliance has a clear ambition: to transform cutting-edge humanoid technology into a trusted, safe, cyber-resilient European solution ready tooperate at scale.

X-HUMANOID (Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics) was established in 2023 to develop an open, general-purpose technology platform for humanoid robots. Its technology integrates advanced mechanics, multiodal perception, motion control and embodied artificial intelligence (embodied AI). X-HUMANOID’s strength also lies in the exceptional calibre of its founding shareholders. Its capital was backed by Xiaomi Robotics, one of the world’s major technology groups; UBTECH Robotics, a listed company and international leader in humanoid robotics; Beijing Jingcheng Machinery Electric, a major state-owned industrial group; and an investment company affiliated with Yizhuang Holdings, Beijing’s public technology-development platform. This industrial and public-sector core has subsequently been joined by further strategic investors, including Baidu and a number of technology and industrialfunds.

Under the agreement, GTD will lead the engineering work required to ‘Europeanise’ the technology and establish its technological trust framework, while MIGO will coordinate business development and the network of alliances needed to deploy the model across the European Union.

It is about giving it the intelligence to understand, decide and act usefully and safely in the real world. Our objective is to enable Europe to embrace this revolution with technology adapted to its values, regulations and requirements for trust,’ said Ángel Ramírez, President of GTD.

Today’s humanoid-robot market is concentrated primarily on research, education, AI-model training and early applications in automated industrial environments. Manufacturing, logistics, inspection, maintenance and professional services are expected to be the first areas of adoption because they offer repeatable tasks and sufficiently structured environments.

The next leap will be far more profound: robots capable of working inunstructured spaces, learning new tasks and collaborating with people. Over the next six years, the alliance intends to build the technological, regulatory and commercial foundations needed to progress from industrial pilots towards services increasingly integrated into everyday life. The home —with tasks such as domestic support, personal assistance and care for older people— represents the major future frontier, although mass adoption will depend on further advances in autonomy, dexterity, cost, safety and social acceptance.

Morgan Stanley estimates that the global humanoid-robot market could exceed $5 trillion by 2050, with more than one billion units potentially in use by then. The bank nevertheless expects gradual adoption until the mid-2030s, followed by an acceleration; approximately 90% of units would still be used for industrial and commercial applications in 2050.

X‑Humanoid: An Open Platform for Embodied Intelligence

X‑Humanoid is the Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics, a Chinese innovation centre jointly established at national and local-government level and dedicated to developing foundational technologies and open ecosystems for embodied intelligence. Its proposition integrates two complementary elements:

- Embodied TianGong: a general-purpose humanoid-robot platform designed as an open physical foundation for research, product development and advanced applications.

- Wise KaiWu: a general-purpose embodied-intelligence platform integrating perception, decision-making and execution, the ‘brain’ that enables the robot to interpret its environment, plan actions and learn new capabilities.

X‑Humanoid’s significance lies not only in the robot’s mechanical performance, but also in the joint development of hardware, control systems, AI models and learning from real-world data. This integration represents one ofthe most advanced technological foundations in humanoid robotics today and enables the transition from isolated demonstrations to autonomous, reproducibleand scalable systems.

The maturity of this technological foundation is supported by recent,verifiable milestones:

- In February 2026, TianGong 3.0 was unveiled as the industry’s first full-size humanoid robot capable of dynamic whole-body control with contact interaction.

- At the Second World Humanoid Robot Games (Beijing, August 2026), TianGong Ultra ranthe 100 metres in 9.39 seconds —surpassing the human record of 9.58 seconds— a time subsequently lowered to 9.32 seconds in later heats. It also won the 400-metre final in 38.15 seconds, faster than the men’s human world record of 43.03 seconds, and achieved 2.8843 metres in the standing high jump, again exceeding the human mark.

- The platform is already operating in real industrial environments: operator-free intralogistics at the Foton Cummins plant, power-grid inspection with the China Electric Power Research Institute, and sports-footwear testing with Li‑Ning.

GTD: Building Europe’s Trust Layer

Artificial intelligence is the foundation of the humanoid robot: it connects vision, language, reasoning, planning, motion control and learning. Its deployment in Europe, however, also requires a verifiable architecture for safety, cybersecurity and data governance throughout the product lifecycle.

With almost forty years of experience in mission-critical software and systems for the space, defence, energy, transport and scientific-infrastructure sectors, GTD will serve as the alliance’s European technology pillar. Its mission will be to support the evolution of Wise KaiWu and the systems built upon it, incorporating from the design stage the requirements of the EU Machinery Regulation, the AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, the GDPR and applicable functional-safety standards.

The objective is not merely to import technology, but to build a genuinely ‘Europeanised’ version: data and computing capacity governed i Europe; models adapted to European scenarios and languages; secure updates; decision traceability; protection against unauthorised access and manipulation; human oversight; continuous risk assessment; and a clear chain ofresponsibility, certification, maintenance and support. GTD already has its own operations in Spain, France and Germany. The challenge, however, requires a much broader network. The alliance will seek corporate groups, integrators, distributors, service centres and technology partners across the European Union capable of adapting applications, training users, installing and maintaining robots, and providing operational support throughout their service life.

MIGO: Creating a Pan-European Network for Deployment at Scale

MIGO is a Spanish company with more than twenty years’ knowledge of the Spanish and European markets. In this alliance, it acts as a strategic partner, initiator of the agreement and coordinator of the commercial, institutional and industrial partnerships required for European deployment.

A Roadmap to 2032

- Phase one: technology alignment, definition of the European compliance architecture, and launch of demonstrators for research, education and industrial scenarios.

- Phase two: progressive certification of modules, adaptation of models using European data, and initial commercial deployments in manufacturing, logistics, inspection, maintenance and services.

- Phase three: expansion to new robotic embodiments and sectors, creation of a pan-European distribution and support network, and development of capabilities for increasingly unstructured everyday environments.

The shared vision is that, by the end of this journey, Europe will have an intelligent, adaptable and certified ‘robotic brain’ capable of operating across different physical platforms and evolving progressively from industry towards service applications and, over the longer term, the home.
