ITER the foremost international scientific co-operation project aims at validating the possibility of producing electricity from the energy of fusion. It is the challenge which gathers together more than half of the world population as represented by the seven project partners : China, the United States, Russian Federation, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the European Union. The site of construction is Cadarache, in the South of France. The cost of the Project is 4.7 billion euro for the construction (2007-2016 ) and 4.8 billion euro for the operation of the reactor (2016-2036). This International Forum, held in Nice (France), has the following 4 main aims : · To establish contacts between contractors, manufacturers and other actors of the ITER Project, via the organization of business meetings, thematic workshops and an industrial exhibition. · To disseminate the latest information about the progress of the project and future calls for tender by a series of conferences by senior ITER management. · To present the industrial vision of the technological challenges for ITER, during the thematic workshops structured around the principal components and systems of the device. · To promote exchanges between contractors, manufacturers and fusion scientists for ITER : specific technical issues (plasma wall components, blanket, vacuum vessel, safety…) will be addressed during the industrial conference and the sessions of the ICFRM 13. The industrial Forum ITER is organized in synergy with the ICFRM for which many scientists from the fusion community will be present. There was more than 500 participants coming from 24 countries. GTD and the other Spanish companies (Idom, Socoin, Nortemecánica, Elytt Energy, Iberinco, Tecnatom and Telstar), were conforming a Spanish Delegation headed with the Spanish Ministry of Industry (CDTI) and the National Center for Nuclear Technologies CIEMAT. Next Forum is to be celebrated in Barcelona , middle of 2008.
