The 13th International Conference on Space Operations was held in Pasadena from May 5th to 9th, 2014. This edition of SpaceOps was hosted by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). SpaceOps 2014 showcased the state-of-the-art operations principles, methods, and tools. The conference attracted technologists, scientists, and managers from space agencies, industry, and academia. It fostered managerial and technical interchange on all aspects of space mission operations, including robotic and human spaceflight, earth orbit and deep space missions, lunar and planetary missions, and orbital and surface operations. The theme of the 2014 conference was "Explore innovation". It is seen as the current sector leitmotif, as hard times for the economy require more than ever exploring innovative ways to build and operate cost-effective systems. GTD was representing the consortium which delivers one of the most successful presentations, devoted to inform on the advance of the European Ground Segment Common Core (EGS-CC). EGS-CC is a European initiative to develop a common infrastructure used to build space monitoring and control systems in pre- and post-launch phases for all mission types. This is expected to bring several benefits, such as seamless transitioning from spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Testing to mission operations, reduction of development and operation cost and risk, and facilitating the modernization of legacy systems.
