More than 40 students from the School Maristas of Lleida city, have recently visited GTD’s head quarter in Barcelona. One of the key objectives of this initiative is to motivate young people to embark on scientific or technical careers. Through the introduction of team studies, the program was also able to promote intercultural learning and European technology cooperation. GTD’s members introduced to the students, a very detailed presentation centered ion Launchers technology. All students were debriefed with very concrete and interesting information about European Space Agency, and in particular about the Space Transport program of the European Agency. This visit was co-organized by Baie “The Cluster of Catalonian Industries working in Aerospace activities” and CVA , the cluster of “cities with industrial contribution to Ariane program”. Special mention wa s done to Ariane’s 30th anniversary. Almost 30 years and several hundred launches later, the Community of Ariane Cities (CVA) decided to commemorate the Ariane success story by launching a summer of educational programs, basically dedicated to students between 15 and 18 years old.
