The latest version of eWAS, our weather awareness application for pilots and aeronautics companies, is now available for download. The app provides pilots with real-time information about weather conditions for their flights. The new version of the application makes the able more useful than ever, with more information about wind conditions and airports, as well as features to make it more user-friendly. Some of these features include: Winds on Map for FL100, FL180 and Cruise FL. (Winds are only available on a square area around the active Flight Plan). MeteoFrance ICE and CAT for Europe and worldwide, with 36 hour forecasts. MeteoFrance Tropo, Wind and Temperature worldwide, with 36 hour forecasts Winds, tropopause, forecast products (ICE, CAT, EDR, CB Top, FPGs and SIGMETs) and observation products (CB Radar, CB RDT, Lightning and PIREPs) will be shown on the vertical display and the map. In addition, forecasts are now valid for longer windows of time (now up to 20 hours), and there are many features to make the app easier to read for pilots, such as removal of old flight plans, easy access to airport information and flight plans, and more visible icons. eWAS is currently being tested by over 40 airlines worldwide, and will be deployed to 3,700 Air France pilots starting over the next few weeks.
