The Industrial Team for the Spanish Program Last week was held in Roanne (France) a 3 days workshop between French engineers of Nexter and Spanish ones of GTD. Roanne scenario was chosen as locates the Nexter main facilities for build up all the vehicles that they commercialize over the world. In particular, this facility includes the manufacturing line for the Nexter Systems VBCI 8 x 8 armoured wheeled infantry combat vehicle. The production rate right now is 10 vehicles per month.Nexter expects to be building up to 630 VBCIs for the French army (520 VCIs and 110 VPCs) under a framework contract signed in 2000, with deliveries stretching out through 2014.Eventually also, GTD and Nexter are expecting to build up 300 vehicles for the Spanish army. The RFI is now in progress and the competition will be ended by mid 2010.
