As a member of the “TIC Cluster*”, GTD has taken part on October, 13th in the first meeting of the working group "GT3 Green-Car". The Green-Car working-group is intended to explore the opportunities offered by the electric vehicle to the IT companies, in order to transform them into real solutions. In this first meeting of the working group, and on the basis of a presentation conducted by Barcelona’s LIVE office (http://www.livebarcelona.cat/), a number of opportunities have been identified (navigation support, real time traffic monitoring, i/f with electric sector, management of the mobility on demand,…). The working group has planned to continue its activity by elaborating specific proposals of IT solutions; and by identifying the opportunities, most likely in the form of collaborative projects, that shall yield to the implementation of several of these solutions. The interest of GTD is focus on the intelligent treatment of the information in order to enable an efficient application of the new solutions in sustainable mobility. This interest is also reflected in the projects and initiatives of GTD in the fields of the energy management (smart-grids) and of the smart-cities. (*) The “TIC Cluster” is an Innovative Business Association (AEI) developed in order to push competitiveness of the Catalan IT sector, reinforcing a new business culture based on collaboration and open innovation.
