Different countries are interested in this solution and several contracts are under negotiation. For the last six years, Eurosatory has been the fixed ‘Rendez Vous’ place were NAVANTIA & GTD have connected with different potential customers from dozens of different countries worldwide. The SERT solution comprises electrooptical (EO) battlefield surveillance and target location system; integrated defence (self-protection) system; navigation and night driving aiding system and battlefield management system. The integrated system gives the soldier solid information which can be used decisively. The electro-optical battlefield surveillance and target location system allows day and night battlefield surveillance and target detection. It is based on an EO system with latest generation passive (IR, visible) and active (laser) sensors. It has both on-vehicle and dismounted versions. The navigation and night driving aiding system is designed to provide all-weather vehicle operation. It is based on a high resolution uncooled thermal imager integrated with all other in-vehicle systems for safe driving in complete darkness. The battlefield management system provides mission specific tools (artillery, cavalry, intelligence) and is completely integrated with all other SERT systems as well as with the unit command, control and communication system, avoiding unnecessary duplicities and providing safe redundancies.Photo of the Spanish PIZARRO vehicle mounted with NAVANTIA/GTD’s EO solution Finally, NAVANTIA & GTD have also produced a ‘Police’ release based on SERT but oriented to Border Surveillance Mission (fixed and mobile stations).
