CNES has awarded a 1 M€ contract for the development of the new safety system simulator Europe Space Port to GTD. Certainly the major responsibility of the CNES in the Europe Space Port is related to safety requirements for people and goods during launching campaigns. For this reason, CNES owns several control systems and networks providing information to the CNES safety engineers from the lift-off and up to the launcher mission completion. Safety relevant information come basically from radars based tracking systems and telemetry data provided by the launcher at any moment. The current multi-launcher configuration of the Europe Space Port with Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega has increased the complexity of the safety engineers operations. Therefore CNES has decided to initiate a new project to build up a multi-launcher safety simulator for training purposes. Through an open competition CNES has chosen the solution proposed by GTD to develop a full representative simulator. This simulator will allow the safety engineers to perform training sessions on any potential failure situation to which they may be faced.
