GTD expresses their satisfaction for achieving the objectives set by the Port Authority of Huelva regarding its industrial revolution respecting sustainability and the environment. In mid 2015, the business consortium led by GTD was awarded the Safe & Green Port Project. S&G Port Integrated Supervision Platform is an IoT ecosystem that allows APHto monitor, control, optimize, and automate port processes related to security (access control, CCTV, intrusion detection), safety (emergency control centre), and environment (weather and air quality). The Port of Huelva ranks as fourth in Spain The president of the Port Authority of Huelva, Javier Barrero, highlighted this past Tuesday that the port of Huelva is ranked fourth in Spain in terms of freight traffic, having mobilized more than 5,2 million tonnes in February. This was revealed by Javier Barrero before the inauguration of the working session of the Andalusian Provincial Forum of Industrial Strategy held in “Las Cocheras del Puerto”. Barrero pointed out that between January and February, the Port of Huelva mobilized more than 5,2 million tonnes, much more than the total for 2016 of the Port of Seville which amounted to 4,7 million. On this basis, he emphasized “the enormous potential” of the Port of Huelva and stressed that it’s “one of the ports with highest levels of industrial growth”. Furthermore, he highlighted the commitment to sustainability of the Port Authority of Huelva, considering “industry and environment as things that should be brought together, instead of creating distance”. After underlining that they are going to contribute ideas for this industrial strategy for Andalusia, he reiterated that there are more than 300 companies located in the Port of Huelva. “We are one of the most important industrial ports in Spain. In the last month, we have moved enough goods to position us as fourth of the 28 Spanish port authorities, thus having enormous possibilities for the future”, he concluded.
