Carlos Kinder (second from left) receive the award Kim Faura, CEO of Telefónica in Catalonia, delivered the award to the company GTD in recognition of promoting innovation, internationalization and knowledge through their business.The event, chaired by Miquel Roca, president of the Barcelona Economic Society of Friends of the Country, and Joan Majo, chairman of the committee for the Circle of Knowledge Barcelona Economic Society of Friends of the Country, attended by a hundred people from the business world and academia, among which Mr Joaquim Gay de Montellà, president of the Patronal and Mr Enric Fossas, Principal of the Polytechnic University of catalonia. The event took place as part of the ‘Nit del Cercle’, the fourth year of a business meeting that aims to recognize the importance of the industrial network of Catalonia when it pushes towards economic recovery and, at the same time, pushes it towards leading positions in the knowledge economy. In this sense, Joan Majo highlighted the potential of the Catalan industry and the "big asset of the society of this country thanks to these companies generating talent and quality". Carlos Kinder, CEO of GTD, said that the key to success is human capital and added that Catalonia has a lot of talent but "further work is needed in this regard, as a modern country should always strive for education, continuous training and research". The three finalists for have been FRACTUS (www.fractus.com), GTD (www.gtd.es) and Scytl (www.scytl.com). Miquel Roca thanked the work of these companies saying "talent is the future of our country and you (the companies) can look to the future with enthusiasm and optimism".
