GTD has hosted in Barcelona the March general assembly of PROESPACIO, the Spanish Association of Space Companies that groups most of the Spanish companies in the space sector. Proespacio’s objective is to promote and spread the space activities in Spain and to contribute to social knowledge and support of these activities. The members of Proespacio are 18 , all of them Spanish companies been involved with the European space program. Spain is a member of the European Space Agency. Today, Spanish companies and research institutions have a significant and growing presence in all major ESA scientific missions. GTD has been working in space for 20 years, developing ground and on-board systems for launchers and satellites. The company is powering the Kourou Space Port with the most sensitive computer systems. In the other hand, GTD is actually delivering new systems for the new launch pads for Soyuz and Vega, both launchers will be operated by Arianespace in 2011, together with the heavy launcher Ariane 5 ECA and Ariane 5 ME. During this assembly Proespacio members joinly celebrated the professional Farewell of Victor Rodrigo “A life dedicated to space” Victor is Proespacio Founding member, and has been vice-president of the Association for seven years, and twenty-five years as head of the Madrid company. The career of Victor Rodrigo has been closely tied to the history of the space sector in Spain. PhD Aeronautical Engineer, worked for nine years at the Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA) in the direction of the Center for Air Force Missiles and was responsible for projects in the Olympus satellite INTA.
