GTD has participated as full member in FUTURED 2nd General Assembly, which was held in Madrid (June, 18th). The Spanish electrical grid platform, FUTURED, is created to foster the technological evolution of Spanish electricity transmission and distribution systems in order to promote technological leadership, sustainable development and increased competitiveness. FUTURED has over 50 members, including electrical utilities, associations and foundations, public administrations, technology centers, and technology providers. FUTURED's challenges are consistent with its mission and in line with the interest of the Spanish electricity sector: · To collaborate with companies in the Spanish electricity sector on the development of new solutions based on technology and innovation; · To cooperate with the competent bodies in the development of a regulatory framework for the Spanish electricity sector; · To reinforce the cooperation in the field of R+D among electric companies and their suppliers, in particular small and medium businesses, research centers and universities; · To collaborate with institutions and social agents on training plans and the dissemination of good practices for the rational and sustainable use of electricity. GTD is currently contributing to FUTURED "Software, modelling, forecasting and optimization" technological work group. For further information: www.futured.es
