GTD, Spanish MoD, other relevant universities and Spanish companies and Barcelona's Chamber of Commerce have organized the conference "UAS, New Sector with New Opportunities", past December 20th in Barcelona. This conference, attended by the Secretary of State for Defense, Constantino Mendez, aimed to dive into the business opportunities that a high-tech sector as the UAS can contribute to the development of the industry and economy. Along with the opinion of the Ministry of Defense, the event has included the voice of different players in the industry and research centers. According to organizers, the UAS represent one of the most dramatic changes of aircraft, both civilian and military applications, in recent decades. However, the transformation and adaptation of technology has been much more dynamic regulatory adaptations to their use and uptake of pro actual capabilities of potential users. This session has delved into the business opportunities that a high-tech sector as the UAS can contribute to the development of industrial and economic structural network. The event has been attended by the Secretary of State for Defence Constantino Méndez. After the welcome by Miquel Valls, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, market opportunities has been discussed by Daniel Acuña, director of Defense and Security Isdefe, chief Colonel Juan Montenegro, chief of staff of the EMU, Francisco Muñoz Sanz, director of INTA Aviation Programs, Jordi angusta Zambrano, CEO of CTAE. The role of SMEes and universities was also discussed by Jose Antonio Rodriguez, chief technical officer of Aeronautics and Defence of GTD and Javier Gil Mur, Vice Chancellor for Science Policy at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Finally, Mr. Maurici Lucena , Executive Vice President Isdefe, closed the ceremony.
