In the last 8 years GTD’s significant and ongoing R&D effort in the aeronautics sector has spawned a comprehensive and varied range of software and applications in the area of flight efficiency, notably concerning weather awareness and flight plan optimization. Aireon managers at GTD’s Stand (from right: Don Thoma (CEO Aireon), Angel Ramirez (CEO GTD), Rafael Rodriguez and Isidro Bas (GTD), Om Gupta & Dennis Diekelman (Aireon) GTD has been showcasing some of these solutions and technologies in the World ATM Congress 2013, held on 12, 13 and 14 February in Madrid. Evolving data standards for aeronautical, weather and flight information, and innovative technologies are changing the nature and economics of achieving system interoperability. These innovations are changing the aviation community. The GTD’s services for aviation community are based on complex mathematical modeling and big data processing facilities, all oriented to make aviation stakeholders saving money (fuel consumption) and CO2 emissions, and increasing safety as well. The products that GTD presents focus on: • New strategic weather surveillance avionics with flight re-planning functions for weather hazards for the Next Generation Integrated Surveillance Systems (NG-ISS). • New flight planning and re-planning functions for trajectory optimization to be integrated in the planning tools of the Operations Control Centers of the airlines and in the new generation of Flight Management Systems. Our investigations are carried out taking into account the future ConOps of SESAR / NEXTGEN and aligned with the technological goals pursued by CLEANSKY, in which we contribute as an active partner in the Mission and Trajectory Management research activities. By displaying these solutions GTD also rounds out its range of avionics and on board software capabilities and products. GTD has been developing applications for aeronautical sector for over 15 years now, a business activity that has made it one of the leaders in implementing Europe’s airborne solutions strategy. World ATM Congress combined a large‐scale exhibition, CEO conference, and social events providing unrivalled networking opportunities and the chance to learn the latest trends and developments in air traffic. World ATM Congress was backed by leading air navigation service providers and industry suppliers.
