GTD hascompleted the transfer of Portel Logistics Technologies, a group subsidiary, to Kalé Logistics Solutions, a global vertical SaaS company specialising in tradefacilitation and logistics technology. The transaction closes a chapter thatbegan in 2013, when GTD first acquired a 49% stake in Portel, taking fullownership in 2018.
Over more than a decade, Portel grew into a recognised provider of port community systems and regulatory compliance solutions, with a customer base of over 350 organisations across the air and maritime logistics sectors. Its flagship platforms, Dédalo and Vellore, support the electronic exchange of advance cargo information incompliance with Import Control System 2.0 (ICS2) standards, helping freight forwarders, ports, airports, and ground handlers reduce manual processing and simplify customs compliance.
The acquisition by Kalé provides Portel with the global reach and resources to continue expanding. Portel's customers will gain access to Kalé's wider logistics technology portfolio, while Kalé strengthens its European regulatory expertise and operational presence.
For GTD, the transfer reflects a deliberate strategic decision to concentrate on its three core divisions: Space & Security, Defense & Security, and Science, Infrastructures & Robotics. With more than 450 engineers and operations across Europe and beyond, GTD remains focused on the development of critical software and systems for some of the world's most demanding environments.
