GTD has won a first TELEMETERING SYSTEM for the Spanish Gas Company “NATUGAS”. This Utility Corporation is the first Spanish ever who has decided to invest in a medium size demonstrator for testing a Domestic Gas Meter System able to send automatically its information to a central system. This is the first time in Spain that a Domestic Metering System is going to be installed and the “premiere” is to going be very closely surveyed by other Utilities in our country (Gas Electricity and Water). The architecture of the system is shown hereby: This architecture matches the following requirements and performances: - It is a wireless distributed Sensors Network. - The energy consumption is very low (Powered by batteries). - Wide use of Zigbee (802.15.4 ) standard protocol. - Scalable (the final system must meter up to 1.000.000 users connexions. - Compatible with actual mechanical metering instruments. Electronic modules must fit into the actual metering systems without need to re-calibrate the instruments. For developing the very specific Hardware GTD has signed a partnership framework contract with JMP Engineers from “LA RIOJA” (SPAIN).This is not the first time that GTD and JMP are closely involved in a very innovative project like this one. Recently we announced in this News Section that JMP was going to develop together with GTD a new revolutionary Avionics Hardware Family for Aldebarán Launcher system.
