During the month of July, GTD's HR department has been in contact with the Catalan Refugee Aid Commission (www.ccar.cat) in order to evaluate alternatives of collaboration. The objectives of the Catalan Refugee Aid Commission is to defend the right of asylum and the rights of refugees and immigrants. They work to facilitate the social integration processes for refugees and immigrants in Catalonia. On July 7h 2016, the HR department participated in a training session on job search, under the socio-occupational integration project “Traçant Camins” (Charting Paths). The objective of this training session was helping the attendees create a resume, search for a job in Barcelona and prepare a job interview. The training session was a success. The attendees showed great interest and participation, and appreciated our involvement in the session. We met people from different countries of origin; Cameroon, Syria, Ukraine, Kenya, Honduras… as well as different levels of education, although most of them had a university education. The attendees had been living in Barcelona for several months and had a good knowledge of the Spanish language. As a result of our participation in this session, we are working towards signing an agreement with CCAR in order to promote the reception of candidates who participate in this program and match the selection processes managed by the department.
