Last June, the Department of Industrial Inspections of the Spanish Ministry of Defense visited the facilities of GTD Cádiz and GTD Barcelona with the purpose of auditing our activities and proceeding with the renewal of the PECAL/AQAP-2210 certification - “NATO Supplementary Software Quality Assurance Requirements to PECAL-2110”. This certification allows the access to tenders in order to supply the Ministry of Defense, NATO and the important platformists of the defense sector with Information Systems, Equipments, Components and Systems. The PECAL/AQAP-2210 regulation aims to ensure the quality of the software during its whole lifecycle, increasing the functionality of the quality systems and providing greater guarantees and assurance to all the actors involved, both in design and development and in production and end-use. As the prologue of the regulation indicates, the quality management in the whole software development process is key in order to achieve the quality of the software in complex and mission-critical computer systems, such as weapon systems, communication systems as well as control and command systems. Its implementation ensures the confidence in the suppliers capacity to meet the contractual requirements, consolidates quality management and contributes to the desired continuous improvement.
