Last week, GTD has had the honor to receive in its central facilities, to the President of the “Diputación” of Barcelona and Major of l'Hospitalet of Llobregat, Exc D. Celestino Corbacho. The “Diputación” of Barcelona is a public institution that serves directly to the citizens and supports technical, economic and technological to the city councils of the 311 municipalities of the province of Barcelona. In addition, it coordinates some municipal services and it organizes services of supra-municipal character. The territorial scope of the Delegation of Barcelona reaches 24% of the total of the surface of Catalonia, rendering service to 74.7% of the total of the Catalan population (more than 5 million of citizens). Mr. Corbacho commented to the directors of GTD, Carlos Kinder and Angel Ramirez that this company represents an example of leadership and technological innovation. The main issue of the visit was to analyse the "Spin-Off" consequent of the application of high technology coming from aerospace or defence programs, to be applied in the scope of the public administrations, and in particular inside the municipalities. Issues like attention and information to the citizen, management of the public transport, or improve of the citizen security, are aspects very important and relevant for GTD, that gave ideas on the matter and located to the Diputación Of Barcelona to later practical demonstrations.
