After 3 years of absence, the “AIR Formula 1” has returned to the city of Barcelona. The Red Bull Air Race is the biggest show in the world air speed, and we are fortunate that this year is part of the “Festa al Cel”. So, on Saturday 3rd Oct and Sunday 4th, different sleeve of the qualifying race and finals have been alternating with exhibitions of the festival's own air. Two full days with the best drivers in the world and all the technical deployment of the Red Bull Air Race. The 15 participating riders compete against the clock in a circuit consisting of inflatable pylons that must go straight in some cases and in others, with the plane flying at knife "(wings forming a vertical line). There are penalties for errors in the angle through doorways, to touch them, or pass them too high or too low. Britain’s Paul Bonhomme won the 2009 Red Bull Air Race World Championship on October the 4th with a thrilling victory in the final race of the season in Barcelona in front of a record crowd of 1.500.000 spectators, holding off a ferocious challenge from defending champion Hannes This are some images taken from GTD’s headquarter.
