Our entire eWAS team is looking forward to following up our debut year in 2016 with another successful year in 2017. We’re working hard to make our app better than ever before. If you’d like to find out more about how you can benefit from eWAS, whether you’re a pilot, an airline, or a passenger, click here. Our first priorities as we move into 2017 form the basis for how our team will work together. We’re focused on having a 24/7 operation and strong collaborations with our partners, both current and future. As we continue to improve our eWAS application, we aim to stay receptive, flexible, and pragmatic in our approach. Maintaining close relationships with our clients and our community of pilots and listening to their invaluable feedback are crucial to this process. For our app, we will continue to develop new functions and improve the existing ones, as well as support integration and customization. Above all, our team is based on one key concept: KISS - keep it simple, stupid! The first half of 2017, our focus will be on adding even more weather information to our application, as well as working on the Teledyne and ACARS onboard communication. We’ll also see graphical edition of the flight plans and display of airline preparation plans received from the OCC. EFBs will be synchronized and we’ll improve airlines’ communication with the EFBs. In the latter half of the year, the plan is to continue to integrate additional weather information, as well as provide the ability to export data from the application to facilitate security studies of any incidents. The IBM MQ interface will be improved, and en-route optimization of routes will be added. In addition, new limited versions of the app for specific profiles will be added on the App Store. Some of these functions may be modified or developed earlier upon request from an airline. 2017 is already off to a flying start for our team, with a new version of eWAS, Version 2.2, being released recently and the news that Air France will be beginning deployment of the app to nearly 4,000 of its pilots. eWAS is currently available for free from now until March. Download your version here and change the way you fly!
