On 14, 15 and 16 March, NAVANTIA and GTD presented their capabilities at the HOMSEC fair, the main platform in Spain for events and professional exchange of the National Security and Defence Industry. The exhibition was held in Madrid, at the only Trade Fair that focuses on National Security in Spain, a geostrategic country considering its relationship with Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. The investment commitment was one of the key factors of the sixth edition of HOMSEC. As a result, it has become a more modern and innovative Fair where the internationalization process has been decisive in order to welcome numerous international delegations, and it also contributed to consolidating the Fair as one the most important events of the sector in Europe. Digital development is another fundamental aspect of this year’s edition of HOMSEC. New technologies were present, not only through the exhibiting companies, but also in the communication spaces that include assembly and technological areas. All of these improvements contributed to generating an excellent work environment for the visitors. At this edition of HOMSEC, NAVANTIA and GTD introduced their new version of SERT for Border Surveillance with HW/SW integrated Ground Radar. The attendees were able to see first-hand and in a very intuitive way, the capacity for early detection and monitoring of threatening traces through the Radar and its subsequent identification thanks to the optronic sensors, in a simulated environment. To complement this sensor package, GTD offered the optical detection systems, both their 360° handheld version as well as the secure communications equipment based on Lightspeed technology. All these new developments were received successfully and with great interest among the various delegations and the general public. Ultimately, it was a fair of great importance for the sector, and an essential event for its top professionals and experts, since it created a unique opportunity to connect with suppliers, clients, key actors, opinion formers, media and R+D centers.
