HOMSEC is the main platform for events and professional exchange of the National Security and Defence Industry in Spain. It’s the only professional fair aimed at National Security in Spain, a country with an exceptional geostrategic situation because of its relationship with Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. A privileged venue for OEMs, developers and integrators, product, system and services suppliers: the right framework to offer and find new business opportunities and collaborations for their companies. HOMSEC is a solid platform for discussion between first class speakers, decision makers and opinion makers from governments, companies and R+D centers. The investment commitment has been one of the main factors of the sixth edition of HOMSEC. As a result, the Exhibition has become more modern and innovative, and the internationalization process has been decisive to welcome numerous international delegations. It will also contribute to consolidating the fair as one of the most important events of the sector in Europe. Digital development is another fundamental aspect that will be seen in this year’s edition of HOMSEC. The new technologies will be present, not only through the exhibiting companies, but also in the new communication spaces, where assembly and technological areas have been included. All of these improvements will contribute to generate an excellent working climate among the visitors. HOMSEC wants to go one step further and in addition to establishing itself as a biennial event, the fair seeks to present itself to society as a knowledge creation space that goes beyond the organization of this event. HOMSEC aims to deepen into new business areas, be a pioneer in discovering emerging technological challenges of the future or to focus on research. All of these working areas will promote knowledge of the Security and Defence sector in our country. There is no doubt that HOMSEC is consolidating itself, year after year, as the main platform in Spain for events and professional exchange in the National Security and Defence Sector. This is demonstrated by the figures. During 2015, the Exhibition received more than 13.000 visitors from 74 countries and 25 international delegations. In this edition, forecasts point to 15.000 visitors, 195 brands and more than 30 international delegations. This information reflects the strengthening of this fair in the international circuit, consolidating it as a reference in the sector for southern Europe. Along the same lines, Jose Luis Cortina, President of Grupo Atenea - entity that organizes the event – points out that “HOMSEC is another example of private initiative being able to create an event that didn’t exist in Spain and which additionally is of interest to the national industry, personnel working in the sector, international relations and, last but not least, to all Spanish citizens”.
