As part of their academic curriculum, the students visited GTD’s facilities to gain insight into the realities of working in the space industry. They toured several of our flagship initiatives, including the Ariane 6 Control Bench Family, the Andøya Launch Control System, the DLR Lampoldshausen Rocket Engine Test Bench, and SAMMBA—each introduced by GTD experts who detailed their technical challenges and innovation highlights.

One of the most enriching moments of the day was the roundtable discussion, where we exchanged views on topics shaping the future of the space sector. Key themes included:

  • Career paths and essential skills for aspiring engineers
  • The power of innovation and entrepreneurship in shaping tomorrow’s space missions
  • How diversity strengthens project teams and outcomes
  • The importance of lifelong learning in a fast-evolving industry
  • The impact and complexity of international collaboration in space programs

This initiative underscores GTD’s dedication to nurturing future talent and contributing to the development of the aerospace ecosystem. By connecting theory with practice, we hope to inspire the next generation of engineers to dream big—and build boldly.
